# Chargeback Management Process
## If a chargeback is raised against your business, Mint will always help you dispute it.
### Chargeback management process – without Mint Protect
1. Mint is notified of the dispute.
2. Mint will contact you to begin the dispute management process.
3. Mint will deduct the disputed amount and the chargeback fee from your account within 7 days of Mint notifying you of the chargeback and in accordance with your Direct Debit Agreement.
4. Mint will request supporting documents, which must be provided by the deadline we give you –within 14 days of receiving the chargeback notification.
If you don’t provide the evidence by that deadline, or you choose to accept the chargeback, Mint will deduct the disputed amount and the chargeback fee from your account.
5. Mint will submit the evidence and advocate on your behalf throughout the dispute process
6. If the dispute is settled **in your favour:** any disputed amount and chargeback fee that Mint deducted from your account will be refunded.
If the dispute is settled **in favour of the cardholder:** the amounts already deducted from your account will not be refunded.
### Chargeback management process – with Mint Protect
1. Mint is notified of the dispute.
2. Mint will contact you to begin the dispute management process.
3. Mint will assess eligibility for the Mint Protect waiver:
1. If the transaction is **eligible**, Mint **will not deduct** the disputed transaction amount or a chargeback fee from your account.
2. If the transaction is **not eligible**, Mint **will** **deduct** the disputed amount and the chargeback fee from your account. This will occur within 7 days of Mint notifying you of the chargeback and will be debited according to your Direct Debit Agreement.
4. Mint will request supporting documents, which must be provided by the deadline we give you –within 14 days of receiving the chargeback notification.
5. If you don’t provide the evidence by that deadline, or you choose to accept the chargeback, the Mint Protect waiver will not apply, and Mint will deduct the disputed amount and the chargeback fee from your account.
6. Mint will submit the evidence and advocate on your behalf throughout the dispute process
7. If the dispute is settled **in your favour:** any disputed amount and chargeback fee that Mint deducted from your account will be refunded.
8. If the dispute is settled **in favour of the cardholder:**
1. if the Mint Protect waiver applies, nothing will be deducted from your account.
2. If it does not apply, the amounts already deducted from your account will not be refunded.
